In Nigeria, a square meter (sqm) is the standard measurement of land, so to give more description using the unit in terms of price it goes as thus: per square meter.

- Square Meter: A Square meter (m2) is the standard unit of area measurement in the metric system. It represents the area of a square with sides measuring one meter. It is commonly used in most countries around the world including Nigeria.
- Hectares: This is a metric unit that is widely used in most countries around the world. It is primarily used in the context of measuring large tracts of land. One hectare is equal is 10,000 square meters or 2.47 acres. It provides a standardized measurement system that allows easy comparison of land areas across different regions.
- Acres: An acre is a unit of area primarily used in the United States, United Kingdom, and a few other countries that follow the imperial system. It is commonly used to measure both large and small parcels of land. One acre is equivalent to 0.404686 hectare.
- Plots: A plot, refers to a specific portion of land that in general terms doesn’t have a fixed size measurement and can vary depending on local regulations, zoning, and the purpose of land use. In Nigeria, a 60ft by 100ft plot otherwise known as 1 plot can be measured between 500sqm to 600sqm, and a 50ft by 100ft plot is measured at 450sqm. Plots are commonly used to refer to smaller divisions of land.
